The Chronicle Project - Page 2
Sorry I have not replied to any of the post replies before now. For some reason, I was not receiving notifications - fixed now, I think.
they aren't doing a letter to word conversion, but a nearly word to word translation.
The way I understand it, each "letter" is a word, and the combination of the letters together describes the word in a way that can't be done in any other language. Perhaps the difference is subtle, but there are plural references to "supreme ones" and not necessarily God as a singular entity (though, as they point out, He certainly may be included in that reference).
This is why, Utah Mormon, I think that LDS folks will find it all very interesting, because we believe that there many "great and noble ones" in the heavens.
What is fascinating to me is that this hasn't been discovered or revealed prior to this, and hasn't really been picked up by mainstream media. Maybe people are still trying to decide about the wackiness factor.
I'm ignoring their footnotes and translations and reading the actual words as they are presented, because the footnotes are highly opinionated translations of the words, and in my opinionated opinion, many of these are a huge stretch of imagination -- with some giant leaps of "what the heck?" thrown in.
So. Of course, form your own opinion. I merely presented it as something interesting to check out, not as doctrine or faith-building/busting.
