Finnish police said Monday that their search for Egyptian grandmother Eveline Fadayel, who was to be deported from Finland on Sunday, was unsuccessful, and they had been unable to locate the hiding place of the elderly woman or contact her relatives.

Maher Gerges, Fadayel's son, told the Finnish News Agency (STT) that he is depressed by the situation and that his mother does not understand what is going on. He also said that he does not answer calls from unlisted number, and therefore has not responded to calls that may have been from the police.
