Lizard

Could you keep a lizard, such as an iguana, as a pet? In some countries this is illegal, in others they are eaten as a delicacy.

I know some people who eat iguanas in Trinidad, the only thing I can say is Yuck!!!. I don't like them, I don't like how they look at you, how they walk, their feet....they're creepy and I don't think I would ever be able to have one as a pet!.

To each his/her own, but personally I would not want a lizard as a pet. Give me a traditional pet like a dog, or a bird.

I don't think I would want an iguana as a pet, but I did have a Lizerd once. Heres the story...

My Grandma and Grandpa used to go to Florida every year. They would come back and stay at our house for a few days. Well one year when they pulled in the drive, I went to their car and, caught between the door was some kind of lizerd! We found out it was alive, but instead of killing it we decided to keep it as a pet. We kept it for about 1 year, and then sent it back to Florida with one of our friends. We fed it live flies. Oh, when we got first got it its tail had been cut off. The tail eventually grew back though.

Just the way lizards move gives me chills and when they just suddenly stop and look at you...oh goshhhh...even worst!!!! Nah, I rather traditional pets.

Why are there so many types of lizards? Researchers have sequenced the complete genetic code -- the genome -- of several vertebrate species from Panama. They found that changes in genes involved in the interbrain (The site of the pineal gland and other endocrine glands), for color vision, hormones and the colorful dewlap that males bob to attract females, may contribute to the formation of boundaries between species.
