The National Food Authority (NFA) said on Friday that it has repositioned its rice stocks nationwide in anticipation of the prolonged rainy season in the third quarter.
NFA Administrator Jessup P. Navarro announced that the food agency has brought more rice in calamity-prone areas before the start of the rainy season.
Navarro said the NFA’s rice inventory, now placed at 2 million metric tons (MMT) or 56 percent of the total national inventory of 3.56 MMT, is adequate to meet the country’s requirement until the end of the year.
