Did anyone happen to watch FX's show "30 Days" last night, June 29th, 2005? If you did not see it or know of it, The show "30 Days" follows different individuals stepping outside their comfort zone, and trying something for 30 Days as a learning and education experience. For example, previous shows dealt with what would really happen to your body after eating fast food only all meals of the day for 30 days, and another was a middle to upper class person working at a fast food restaurant for minimum wage for 30 days.
The most recent show dealt with a devout Christian curious about spending 30 days as a Muslim, and dealing with the issues/rejection/suspicions that they face on a day to day basis here, living in the United States. I was quite shocked at the reaction he faced from his own fellow Americans as he walked around and surveyed them of their opinions of the Muslim people and lived the Muslim lifestyle.
What do you think about this:
1. If you wished, (as an educational experience), would you feel like you were disrespecting your own religious beliefs to take the opportunity to learn about the rituals and habits of another religion?
2. If you wished to participate in a learning experience like this, which religion would you choose?

I think I would choose Islam as well. I don't know a lot about other religions, but even before watching the show, I knew they had specific pray times, and I don't know of any other religion that is as disciplined or as physically involved.
