What do you usually say the most in your prayers?

In every prayer, I express my gratitude for the things I have, and ask for his blessings in some way. for example:

When I wake in the morning, I will thank Him for the day he has given me and the blessings I have received. I will ask him to please help me control my anger. Then I will ask for his blessing upon myself and my family, that he will keep us safe, and guide us throughout the day that we might do His will.

At dinner, I will thank Him for the food, ask for his blessing upon it, that I might be strengthened by it and be healthy. I will thank him for blessings received.


One thing i never say is "give me this or give me that" I always thank him for what I have, and I almost always let him know of my needs. I try not to ask for trivial things.

Veryloudsygirl, those are great prayers! I'm glad to hear that.
I mostly thank God for my family, for my life and ask him to protect us always from danger or illness and that we may always have food in our table and a place to live. I also ask for those people who are less fortunate.

I ask for the usual stuff like protection for those I love and I generally call them by name.  However, I ask for help in all areas that I need it even if they might seem trivial.  For example, if I am going to work on a particular project at work that day, then in the morning I will ask for help that it goes well or smoothly.  I always ask for success in whatever I am going to attempt to accomplish throughout the day.  

I will even ask for help finding my keys if I find myself in a situation where I have looked and can't seem to locate them.  I try to ask for help from my Heavenly Father in the same manner I would from my earthly Father.

I probably wouldn't ask him what kind of vegetable to serve with dinner, though, so I guess even I have a limit.

I'd say it would be that i'm thankful for my family and to protect them from harm...they are the most important things to me next to the gospel.  Without the gospel and my family i don't know where i would be.  I would probably be out with some friends drinking somewhere and doing everything i know is wrong.  I aslo say that i'm thankful to have wonderful friends.  My LDS friends really help me keep the right.  I also say i'm thankful to have been born into the church and that my family is so well off.  When ya watch the news and stuff you realize just how lucky you are.  I know i take that for granted and i'm gonna set a goal.   I'm gonna try and help people at every opportunity instead of taking the selfish way out.

My prayer is constantly for my twin sons who don't belong to any religion. I pray the prayers that they should be saying in their behalf, that Father will be mindful of them, their needs, their continued employment, and their safety. Also that they may somehow find their way back to living amongst the saints and not be fellow strangers to the household of God.

I think we should always acknowledge God's hand in all things in our prayers.

I agree with this wholeheartedly!  I read someplace once that we should even thank him for our trials because we learn and grow as a result of them.  I don't remember where I read it or who said it.  I am definately not a point yet in life where I thank him for the bad in my life, but I do try to thank him for all that is good.

nh, I hope your sons join the Church one day. I know Heavenly Father listens with a 'special' ear the prayers of righteous parents.

I pray about my family keeping well and safe.  I also pray for guidance to help make decisions that I find difficult to make.  I also thank Heavenly Father for all that he has blessed me with in my life.
