I also pray for guidance to help make decisions that I find difficult to make.

I think that is a great thing to do.  I am not sure I have ever asked for this specifically.  I am going to pay more attention next time I am struggling with making the right decision.

One thing i never say is "give me this or give me that" I always thank him for what I have, and I almost always let him know of my needs. I try not to ask for trivial things.

There's nothing wrong with asking for stuff. Imagine if you found out your best friend was hungry and never bothered to ask you for something to eat while visiting your house. Wouldn't you be hurt that they didn't trust you that much? And God can always say "no" if He thinks your request is wrong.

Xtra, if you read carefully Very's reply she specifically says that she tells God about her needs but she doesn't ask for trivial stuff, there is a huge difference about the example you're giving wink.gif I think she meant by trivial things that are not as important as food and shelter but things like money to boy clothes on the mall or a new car, etc. Of course, there is nothing wrong is asking God for anything we need, he actually knows all our needs before we even ask him but we do have to ask him in order to show our humility and dependancy in Him in all things.

I pray for guidance in my thoughts, actions and deeds, for help to be a respectful and kind person no matter how others deal with me.  I pray for the lonely that they find comfort, the needy to have ease of the hardship they bear, the young to never lose their unconditional love, and the old to find peace.  For relationships to be mended, and the truth to be heard.

May Allah bless you all.

Those are awesome things to include in your prayers.  If people everywhere sincerely prayed for these things and lived their lives like they meant it, what a wonderful world this would be.

What you usually the most your prayers - Page 2

I try to be open for a connection (begin by listening) express love and trust and ask for clarity.  Sometimes I ask for specific things but try to remember to include that it be for the good of all concerned.  Mostly I ask for clarity, the ability to see what I am supposed to be learning from whatever is going on.  And I acknowledge companionship, since it is really always there but sometimes we don't realize it.
