With the recent turn of events people are quick to point to one religion for war, but looking at history should we be so quick to point fingers? Predators using Religion to wage war and agression.The Most Violent Religion - Page 10
I think Christians along with its Jewish origins must put it up there with the top ten. So many wars are fought in the name of God and fulfilling his promises. As well as those that placed the word Christian on themselves and commenced to try and eradicate those who opposed them. It is not any one time period I am thinking of but the whole of the history from start to present.
I think that there were other very violent religions that where followed but due to the shortness of the movement they might rank as high as Organized Sects of Christianity.

BUT what about the years of murders that the Crusaders committed in the name of Christ? Surely if they were on our time they would be called terrorists. At the same time some muslims do seem to react violently at first rather than talk... Hindus could be considered the same or even Nazis which some see Hitler as a God even today.
The Crusades realistically lasted a couple hundred years while Islam has been going steady for 1400 years. No other religion has the track record that Islam has. For example:

Buddhists do not keep up with the history of war. Keep in mind that in jihad only Christians and Jews were allowed to survive as dhimmis (2nd class servants to Islam); everyone else had to convert or die. There have been many atrocious acts committed in the name of God. Though it isn't what has been, but what new height will these acts reach that concerns me. Currently the most obvious threat is Islam. Mainly due to what I believe is a mis-interpretation of their own religious text. On the other hand, the United States is a nation founded by white Christian men.I'm not saying that America is the same face of "good ole' christian home values" as it used to be, but it seems to me that we push for that sort of lifestyle. How far will we go, to give that opportunity to the people of a country thousands of miles away?

Clara, I fully agree. I have investigated this for myself and it turns out that this is the history of Islam in any century you look at! The only novel thing is the suicide bomber-- because of the bombs themselves. But there have been jihadis since the time of Mohammed himself.

The Most Violent Religion
I tend to stay out of religious discussion because it has no end with theories of who is right and who is round, but for me the most violent religion has to be extremist islamists. I say it like that because they seem to have their own religion different from main stream Islam. After 9/11 I studied it a bit to understand what I would do about people I knew were muslims.

After all the removal of non Jew in the Middle east was one of the largest attempt at ethnic cleansing. Yes attempt as the Jew were weak in the end and many lived that were to have died.
