And they are predicting that the worst isn't over yet! It's predicted that another aftershock of the same magnitude as the initial quake will likely occur within the next 48 hours. Tsunami warnings have been issued to nearby islands and coastal areas too.
I've been in a scale 5.8 quake in America, Florida 2008, before, and that was scary in itself, never mind an 8.1! Can't imagine how scary and bad that is. .

21 children were killed in a nursery along with their teachers. There are around 225+ people dead and it will likely be more. The fact that this happened on the same day that marked the 1985 catastrophic earthquake that killed many in Mexico is eerie.

New earthquake, magnitude 6.1, shakes jittery Mexico
Saturday, September 23, 2017, 7:11 AM PDT
A strong new earthquake shook Mexico on Saturday, causing new alarm in a country reeling from two still-more-powerful quakes this month that have killed nearly 400 people.
The U.S. Geological Survey said the new, magnitude 6.1 temblor was centered about 11 miles (18 kilometers) south-southeast of Matias Romero in the state of Oaxaca, which was the region most battered by a magnitude 8.1 quake on Sept. 7.
It swayed buildings and set off a seismic alarm in the capital, promping civil defense officials to temporarily suspend rescue operations in the rubble of buildings downed by Thursday's magnitude 7.1 quake in central Mexico. Source 7j.
