I saw on the news that they delayed the vote on that guy to be a bishop.  Said that they got a call that this guy had inappropiately touched another church member.  The people of his church were upset that someone could be so hurtful as to spread lies about this guy right before they did their final voting.  So, now the officials have to investigate it further before they get together and vote on it again.

Well, here it is, either it is true, or someone really didn't want this guy to be a bishop.

Would-Be Gay Bishop 'Dismayed'

A clergyman seeking to become the first openly gay bishop in the Episcopal Church was "surprised and dismayed" by 11th-hour allegations questioning his reputation but remained calm as an investigation got under way, a spokesman said Tuesday.

Well that is old news now because they approved it. I am amazed really, I am sure the Catholics are having their laughs at what the Church of England (Anglicans) have come to. I wonder what scriptural basis they will use for this one now...

CHURCH OKS GAY BISHOP
In a move that threatens to split the denomination, the Episcopal Church has
ratified the nomination of its first openly gay bishop. While the Rev. Gene
Robinson called his ratification "not so much a dream as a calling from God,"
one opponent said the controversial vote left a "grief too deep for words."

You beat me to that one, Jb.  ;)  lol  I heard about that on the news this morning.  I couldn't believe that they actually approved him to be a bishop.  Hmmm, I wonder what will be next.  Is the church going to start recognizing same sex marriages now that they have shown they can accept that a gay person can be a bishop in the church?  The reason I ask this, is because they were also talking about this on the news this morning.

I have not followed the whole story about this new bishop being gay but what's the excuse or reasons this Church gives to justify a gay bishop? (knowing that the Bible condemns homosexuality)

Do they really need an excuse?

I wouldn't really want an excuse as much as I would like an explanation to understand why they felt they had to promote this guy.  I thought the church condemned homosexuality?  But now, they have promoted a well known homosexual to be a bishop.  Is the church trying to set it's own laws and ways of life?  Is the church changing to fit the times?  Or are they trying to show tolerance?  I begin to wonder what kind of changes the church will go through now that they have done this.
