What is your review for the documentary "Bruce Lee - A Warriors Journey"?

Bruce Lee was an enigmatic, legendary figure at the time of his death in 1973. His popularity has never waned and this documentary on the black belt movie star attempts to explain some of his magnetic appeal. Included in this biographical film is footage of The Game of Death, the film that Lee was involved in at the time of his death. Pieced together by Lee aficionado John Little, the film's finale is a flurry of images of the master in action for over 30 minutes.

I learned some interesting things about Bruce Lee especially with regards to his impact on Hollywood and the martial arts in general. One thing this documentary lacks is a full background into Bruce Lee for instance his birth, growing up, how he died and so forth. It does cover his philosophy and thoughts. Rare footage and writings are shown including parts of the Game of Death as Bruce Lee wanted it seen.

The Media are still milking millions from the most over-rated Martial Artist in History.
His Ego was so large that he only completed two thirds of his Wing Chun kung fu course. He was the first to go public in America with a skill handed down by his fore fathers.
Did he sell his tradition? Was he a drug addict? Did he have a huge arrogant temper?
I met a Real Shaolin Monk once, he was quiet and no-one knows him. This man was an evolution above human in martial art terms. Bruce Lee was a very poor second.

Please read "Bruce Lee - The Untold Story" by his wife Linda Lee.
I don't just blindly not worship him, please read "Tao of Jeet Kune Do" by the man himself, he may have been a pioneer in the western world but he was far from remarkable. There are many myths about him, many concerning his death. He was good, but not god-like. I have studied him at length and believe those that have developed his ideas further to this day have achieved more.

Actually, his wife, students and many of those around him were in this documentary - Bruce Lee - A Warriors Journey, they said nothing negative about him. He may have suffered with depression due to rejection by a then racially inclined USA who saw Asians as rice farmers only. According to Bruce Lee - A Warriors Journey, Bruce Lee tried hard to change the concept by dispelling rumors, something that many say cost him his life, who knows.

He may have had good intentions, and yes many aspects of his Legacy are positive. But what disturbs me is the amount of money others have made by his memory, this is true of many rock stars and people who have sadly passed to soon.
We will never know the true story of Bruce, Lennon or Kennedy, but there are those who will profit from the uncertainty and Legend.

Well Bruce Lee did leave his wife and kids prematurely and they have to live somehow so if they wanted to use his Legacy in order to eat their next meal I don't see anything wrong with that. Additionally he did sign contracts and a lot of investment was made in him. I believe he was good for entertainment up until the 90s' but then names like Chuck Norris (his student), Steven Seagul and Jean Claude Van Damne took over the movie scene for martial arts. What lives on that Bruce started is not using one way or tradition to defend yourself - indirectly mixed martial arts was born.
