Keezer Introduction

I am signing up to participate in some AD&D Role-playing so I can maybe have an experience close to my play in real life. I tried Dungeons and dragons online but it really wasn't anything like tabletop play. Maybe the play-by-post system will not be too different from tabletop play.

Hello there! As Horde says, there are games here to choose from. There are official site RPGs, like World of Medieval, as well as player-run games like KNtoran's AD&D game, as well as those by Oliron and TestSubject, going on in the Member Wars forums. I recommend before signing up for those that you read this newcomer FAQ I prepared for KNToran's game, as it gives what I feel is a good summary of the basics you'll need to know.

I highly suggest you read the new comer FAQ that Jpatt put together. I think you will find it very helpful in creation of a new character to play in our D&D world. We play by 3.5 rules.
