Just 28 hours after leaving the crew, police say Leonard stopped a woman on the Provo River Trail near her apartment, demanded money and then dragged her into a nearby wooded area by tying a shoelace around her neck. Police say the woman was knocked unconscious while she was dragged. Leonard sexually assaulted her and attempted to kill her by throwing a football-sized rock at her head and a concrete block, a police affidavit states. Ref. Source 6
