I played dungeons and dragons with my inlaws once. I apparently ticked off the GM because he three everything but the kitchen sink at me on our first encounter. Part of it was my own fault, we entered a dungeon on the first night, and came to the first room. I chose to charge in. Unfortunately, he gave everyone the chance to make a different decision, and I went in alone. I had to fight twelve demons that were well above my rank. I died withing four roles of the first hour of the game.

My first dungeons and dragons GM was either new to being a GM or just plain mean. He would let the group adventure until about level nine then kill them off by some random encounter with a god or a dragon. So here I am level nine on a halfling rogue who just opened a chest in dungeon x. The GM ask's me to roll a d20 four times to see what items are in the chest. After rolling four times 19, 20 , 3, 20 he was clearly mad. Evidently the +3 daggers which cause bleeding where on the loot list just to fill a spot and not to be won at level nine. Which I rolled two twenties putting two of them into the chest.

So after a few minutes past and we had figured out loot. He asked me to roll a four sided dice. I got a three, then out of nowhere the chest expels toxic gases killing the party, come to find out 2-4 was a trap. So I had a 25% chance to save the party... Not in shock as we all knew it was time for to die (approaching tenth level).

One of my first times playing an rpg I took the last slice of pizza for the gm A.K.A. "Wookie". 3 minutes into the game I fall down a hole into a cave where I am magically transported into the 6th circle of hell. I spend the next 2 minutes running away from hellhounds and scrambling into a suit of cursed armor. The armor allows me to kill the hounds and find a some kind of doorway back up to the world. Where my party then begins trying to kill me. (The armor made me look demonic.) I manage to tear the helmet from my head only to find that removing the armor sucks the life from out of my body; Leaving me dead on the floor.. I have since then never taken the last slice unless of course I am the GM.

The fastest I've ever died playing d&d I can honestly say it was just bad luck. During our first fight of the night, by dual axe dwarf rolled a critical miss, and ended up chopping his own foot off. That wouldn't have been so bad except that our group was outmatched by a zombie horde and the point of the adventure was that we were supposed to run away. I made the honorable sacrifice and dove into the oncoming horde..... the gm was nice though and allowed me to play as the footless zombie dwarf and chase the rest of the group.

I once a GM who liked to have a level up boss, basically when we about to level up he would role a D100 consult his table and see what we had to defeat. Normally very easy (he is notoriously useless roller) and he was generous with the experience so we liked the system. Problem happened at the beginning of campaign, we were about to level up to 2, when he rolled a 94. We were all a little surprised when took out another table and all started to worry he then proceeded to roll a 89 and then started laughing hysterically. When he revealed we had just upset a storm Titan, who proceed to rip us a part in less then 2 rounds. After this we decided we weren't so keen on the GMs level boss' as we had to restart the campaign with new characters

The fastest I've died is when I first played Icewindale (P.C.) I was made smitten by a party of goblins. How pathetic is that *laughs*.

The fastest my character has died was when I was playing with a goliath barbarian who raged, rolled 4 nat 20's on attack rolls and nat 1's on his save to stop killing and slaughtered a whole orphanage (and the kobolds that were plaguing it). It caused my character and my friends character to go insane, I then became a degenerate drunk until I forgot the whole incident and eventually my friend's character killed us all.
