The Teacher of Righteousness
It is written in scripture one comes at the end of days to fulfil the word of the divine prophets he is sent by the living God and will be called, wonderful, Councellor Prince of Peace the Lord our Righteousness.
[Behold the nations and see, marvel and be astonished; for I accomplish a deed in your days, but you will not believe it when] told. They, the men of violence and the breakers of the Covenant, will not believe when they hear all that [is to happen to] the final generation from the Priest [in whose heart] God set [understanding] that he might interpret all the words of His servants the Prophets, through whom He foretold all that would happen to his people and [His land]. (1QpHab II, 5-10)

The Teacher of Righteousness
The scriptures are clear the Teacher of Righteousness is to take all the words of the prophets and interpret them so that the people walk in the ways of God and abandon their wooden idols. Israel is to be made a kingdom of priests not a secular idol loving land. The Teacher is taught by no man but God because his understanding is given by God.

This paper seeks to determine who the Teacher of Righteousness was. In fact, the essenes refer to him as a real person or office nearly four hundred years before christ. Much of what we see in modern religions, and read about our prophets and messiahs (both christian and islam) can find it origins in the descriptions and quotations from the Teacher of Righteousness. Whether he was a myth, a real man, or an office held in the Essene community, we may never know the real answer.
As I read through this thread, I thought it would be a good starting point for anyone who wants to really discuss this subject. Please refrain from comments about the original poster as I am redirecting this thread to match the topic title.
