I was surprised we did not have a Thread for Drew Carey so here is one. LDS_forever sent me a link about how he lost all his weight and overcame diabetes. He looks slim now - read and see: Source 7

As for Drew himself he has a very lovable personality on set, I do not know how he will be off set but he certainly did good in caring for his body.

I always liked watching Drew, I am glad that he was able to lose the weight and get his body back in order. I hope all the best for him.

There are many things about Drew that few people know. For instance, he is a professional photographer and he worked as such at the U.S. National Team soccer games (you can still see him doing that, and his pics are sold via wire services under the pseudonym Brooks Parkenridge). He also served in the US Marines.

He went to college but was expelled twice for poor academic performance. He had refractive surgery to correct his vision and did not need glasses for a while but when he turned 40, he had to wear them again.

He is engaged to artist and chef Nicole Jaracz.

On a dark side note, he suffered of depression. When he was 18 and again at 20 he tried to commit suicide but was able to learn from the experience through self-help books that he continues reading.

Carey Drew

I like his comedy but as far as comics go I don't think he is really all that great. He is up there with the greats but on the lower end of the list to me. His material is funny but the way he delivers at times is a little boring. Good for him though overcoming his problems and becoming so successful. I think that goes to show that young people who are suicidal need to understand, you still have a whole life to live. You could throw it all away or just go for it.

I did not know much about Drew until he appeared on the Price is Right. For me he makes a great host and I would rather watch him doing that than as a stand up solo act.
