Meterologist: Record Heat Wave in Russia Could Kill Tens of Thousands
Wildfires across Russia. Devastating floods in Pakistan. Deadly landslides and flash floods in India and China. Heat wave across the United States. Severe drought in Niger. Taken together, scientists warn the events match predictions for extreme climate events caused by global warming. This year is on track to be the warmest since reliable temperature records began over a century ago, mainly due to a buildup of greenhouse gases from fossil fuels. I think this is going to hurt many third world countries as they can not afford to buy as much wheat as the more developed nations. It could have a very lasting effect on any small countries that simply do not have the budgets to buy a lot of food if they rely on imports. I hope the nations that are effected by the droughts and floods recover so that prices may come back down soon.
