Vali Introduction

I am a Trinidad born business woman who feels very strongly about the need to fix the homeless situation in my country. I found this forum while searching for the latest news on vagrants in Trinidad. In an attempt to be pro-active, I am searching out ideas that work.

I do believe that there must be at least one organization that is trying to help this cause, but I have yet to hear of one. I do not believe that Rehabilitation Centers count towards this end as many homeless persons are not drug addicts. Many of the homeless persons I have met are survivors of some emotional or physical tragedy that has left them bereft of self esteem or belief in others.

Every year governments make promises, but I am of the opinion that if one truly wants to see change, one must do something.

I have full confidence that I will find a way to establish a safe, clean and rejuvenating shelter by this time next year. I am very resourceful. In the meantime, any assistance and/or suggestions will be very much appreciated.
