Digitizing Images From Slides

Hey, this might be slightly off topic... But it does relate to painted miniatures.

A very long time ago, I took some pictures of the miniatures I had painted. At the time, slides were cheaper than a 4x6, so that is what I bought. Is there an easy/cheap way to get those into the computer? I tried scanning the slide, but it always came out way too dark. Note that I still had the slide in its paper holder. I suspect that if I take the slide out of its holder, the scan would be better, but I do not want to destroy the slide.

Any ideas? If I ever get them scanned, I'd be happy to share them with you smile.gif

From what little I know you can:

1. Take them to WalMart, they have a slide to digital format service

2. If you have a powerful scanner you can pick them up that way

3. If you are creative you can hold them up to a digital camera while shining a very bright light at the back and then take the photograph of them. You can then import into a graphics program and convert / enhance as necessary.

When you have done that you can then go to the Forum Gallery and upload them in the Art section: Source 5 as Regular Members cannot Upload in Threads.
