DeaconBlues Introduction

Well Met and Good Journeys, fellow traveller of the Realms. I hail by Deacon Blues in the Dalelands of the Forgotten Realms [..] on the internet.

I am interested in joining a Play-By-Post RPG, preferably in the Forgotten Realms campaign setting. I've been playing D&D since the old 'red-box' days before they added the "Advanced" part to the title.

I'm most familiar with the 2nd Edition rules, but I own the books for 3.5 ed. I'm open to play any Race, Class, Gender, Age, Level, or Combination that is required, although I prefer to play a 12th level Human Male Priest of Tymora.

I'm open to ANY campaign setting and style, from D&D to Shadowrun to StarTrek to StarWars to Marvel Heroes to any other or even a homebrew game.

Welcome to the forums. I can tell you that in my campaign and most of the others we play by the 3.5 version rules. You can check out some of the rules in the member wars section. You will see that we do not play in the forgotten realms and I personally have my own world that I have developed.

I hope that you will take the time to read all the rules that are here and then join us in the D&D campaigns. Make sure to create a character. All characters in my world start at level 1.

Welcome! I saw your post in the Member Wars section, and hope you get you a character made there now that you know the forum point requirement is only for the official site games and not for player-run games, and get to join in.

I was playing in KNtoran and Oliron's games but real life sidelined me - I'm hoping things will calm down and I might be able to come back and maybe run something, I'm not sure. Glad to see you're open to different gaming genres.

I myself would be more inclined to run something of a different genre, though I could run a fantasy game, it would still use a lesser known system than D&D (though I too cut my teeth on redbox and later AD&D2E).

I lean toward "lighter" but still useful rules systems, in real tabletop and especially in forum play, for the simplicity of GM'ing, and players learning and using the system. The last time I asked here, I didn't get much response, but everyone sort of lethargically leaned toward a superhero game, so I've been looking at different superhero game systems; I know of Marvel and it could maybe be usable but I've also been looking at newer things, a bit simpler for "pick up a play"

Anyway, again, welcome, and make SURE to read the FAQs around - they're real big on that here, and if you haven't, I recommend you check out the AD&D Newcomer F.A.Q. I wrote for KNtoran's game.

Not to plug another website or anything, but I was in several games at [..] until I changed jobs. My new job blocks access and my cell phone can't post there for some reason.

Anyways, at that site its all about the storytelling, and not a lot of dice rolls. If your character does something that sounds interesting and plausible, AND it advances the storyline, then it will usually succeed. If your actions hinder the overall storyline, or sound too far-fetched, it will likely fail.

They run two threads for each game, one in character, one OOC. It was fun, but I'm ready for some true D&D action again.

Dude the worst you can do is step on the wrong foot with the mods here. Talking about other sites and stuff will get you like terminated. Anyway we develop our characters and have like dice and stuff its a bit of both it all depends on which RP you're in. I think the others like Oliron and some other guy might be more story and less dice I don't know cause theres more than one GM here and I'm just in JB and Kntoran games.
