ABC News just announced that Hurricane Earl has become a Category 4 storm but as far as I know it should not hit any of the islands. Puerto Rico make get the tail end of it but its path is supposed to be North East.

It went from a strong cat 4 storm all the way down to a cat 1 storm after brushing by the outer banks area of North Carolina. I think if it sticks together and hits the new england states it is not going to cause much of a mess.
