We Hurt A Lot Of People Westboro Pastors Granddaughter Says
Religious Based News
Nearly a year after breaking with the Westboro Baptist Church, two of Pastor Fred Phelps' granddaughters are enjoying a new freedom. But as they tell a Canadian newspaper, they also want to extend empathy to those they hurt in the name of a cause championed by the man they call "Gramps."

Fred Phelps, the founding pastor of Westboro Baptist Church, known for its virulently anti-gay protests at public events, died Wednesday, the church said today. He was 84.
Phelps founded Westboro Baptist of Topeka, Kansas, in 1955 and molded it in his fire-and-brimstone image. Many members of the small congregation are related to Phelps through blood or marriage.
According to the church's website, it has picketed more than 53,000 events, ranging from Lady Gaga concerts to funerals for slain U.S. Soldiers. Typically, a dozen or so church members - including small children - brandish signs that say "God Hates Fags" And "Thank God for Dead Soldiers." Ref. CNN
I don't want to be mean, but there are a lot of people who have been hurt by this man and his followers and they are probably thanking the heavens for taking Fred Phelps.
Good for this lady and for learning to think for herself. What her parents did to her is a form of child abuse. Yes, I served in the military to guarantee their right to free speech and to continue to say and do the stupid things they do and say. But to subject a child to this ideology from birth should be against the law.
