Fresno firefighter safety criticized

The Fresno Fire Department was found to be “picking and choosing” which safety procedures to follow by an investigation into a 2014 fire that left a fire captain severely injured. Capt. Pete Dern suffered burns on 70 percent of his body when he fell through a garage roof. Ref. Source 4d.
