Comments: There are 2 witches in my family, one refuses to teach and the other is senile and I've been trying to find a mentor or someone with some information, Can anyone help?
I can't imagine why anyone would not share their knowledge with another that is willing to learn. I would be leery about learning anything from someone with that mindset anyway - not saying anything against that person, just that I would be more careful to consider information from that person in the future.
Wherever you find instruction, you need to use your judgment and discernment and make sure the people you speak with are not only "proper witches", but proper PEOPLE. Don't "settle" for people you aren't particularly fond of or that do things you don't like or don't agree with, just because they're "witches" - that doesn't give them any sort of magic pass that means your own values take a back seat to learning about Wicca.
Do research, do find some forums and sites, talk to people online, large communities, find people that are THOUGHTFUL and don't just talk about the dramatic spellcasting and all about rituals and energy and stuff, but about the reasons for them, the connections with the earth and nature, their philosophies and bond with fellow man and all life. Paranormal sites could have some wiccan members or some that might be able to guide you to useful sites, and you might also try local wiccan or new age/occult physical/brick-and-mortar bookstores, but again, you'll need to use your own judgment when you meet these people.
Aszmodean why does one of your family members refuse to teach you did they give you a reason?
