Elderly man dies in 2-car crash in Keystone Heights

An 87-year-old Keystone Heights man was killed Monday night in a two-vehicle crash at Florida 100 and Park of the Palms Drive, according to the Clay County Sheriff?s Office.
Donald Muchmore, who lived on Hebron Avenue, was driving south on Florida 100 about 5 p.m. with 89-year-old Christina Shakestaff. He failed to yield to another vehicle, which hit his car in the driver?s side, according to the Sheriff?s Office.

St. Johns County man charged in January traffic death

Police have charged a St. Johns County man with DUI manslaughter in a head-on crash that killed an Atlantic Beach man in January.
Trevor Wayne McMullen, 43, of Casa Sevilla Avenue was arrested today in Jacksonville and charged in the Jan. 27 death of David Lee Darnell. Darnell, 39, died after the head-on collision on County Road 210 in St. Johns County.
The St. Johns County Sheriff's Office said tests show McMullen used a "large" amount of narcotics before the crash. The were no other details.
McMullen is being held on $150,000 bail.

Elderly Jacksonville woman beaten unconscious before her car is stolen

An 80-year-old Southside Jacksonville woman was attacked and beaten unconscious Monday morning before her car was stolen from her home on Bedford Road, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.
The victim told officers that a man in his 20s came to the house twice around 10 a.m. asking to use her telephone to call his mother since he missed the bus to school, according to police. The second time, the man began hitting the woman in the head until she blacked out.

St. Augustine man arrested in April crash that killed 2

A St. Augustine Beach man sought in an April crash that police said killed his two passengers on their way home from a party was found and arrested today, charged with DUI manslaughter.
Deputy federal marshals located 27-year-old Carlos Antonio Bueso at a home in the 3600 block of South Florida A1A. Also charged with driving on a suspended license, Bueso remains in jail on $225,000 bail.
Bueso was northbound on County Road 13 near Cowpen Branch Road about 8:20 p.m. April 17 when he drove his Nissan Altima off the road and hit a tree.

Arrest made in Epping Forest burglary and auto burglary

A 19-year-old Southside Jacksonville man was arrested Sunday night on charges of burglary and auto burglary after a home and a car were broken into in the gated Epping Forest community, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff?s Office.
Elijah Kareem Blackshear of Old Kings Road South was booked into the Duval County jail just before 10:30 p.m. on $35,000 bail, according to jail records.

1 killed in Jacksonville crash that also left woman, child injured

A woman is dead after her car was sent spinning and flipping when another vehicle drifted into her lane and collided with her car on Butler Boulevard in Jacksonville.
Both vehicles were westbound approaching Belfort Road when the woman in the far right lane with a small child inside drifted over and struck the deceased woman's car in the far left lane, Florida Highway Patrol spokesman Bill Leeper said.
Leeper said the woman's car then spun and flipped and came to a rest near the middle median. The unidentified woman died at the scene.

Youngerman Circle crash victim ID'd in Jacksonville crash

A Jacksonville man died Thursday in a crash in the 6100 block of Youngerman Circle.
The Sheriff's Office identified him Tuesday as 41-year-old Phillip Joseph Martin of Macdougal Drive. He was driving west on Youngerman about 4:30 p.m. when another vehicle turned left from a private driveway in front of him. Both vehicles collided and Martin was airlifted to a hospital but died.
The Sheriff's Office did not identify the other driver and said the wreck is still being investigated. Seat belt information also was not available.

Everybody seems to have turned on DeShawn Leon Green.
Those he called friends, those he dealt drugs with and those he even killed with all spoke up in court this week against Green.
While almost all face long prison terms as the products of the violent, hustled streets of Northwest Jacksonville, jurors could not deny the continuity of their accounts, depicting Green as a cold, calm killer.
So after about 15 hours of deliberations, a Jacksonville jury returned a guilty verdict Friday in the first of three first-degree murder trials he faces.
