Murder victim found in Northside Jacksonville home identified

Police have identified a man found killed Thursday in a home on Longreene Road as 62-year-old Manoucher Karimi of Kaleel Road. Police were called to the mobile home on the city?s Northside just before 9 a.m. At the time, homicide Sgt. T.K. Waters said there had been a disturbance and an unusual amount of traffic around the home early that day and the night before.

Jacksonville police: Apparent road rage leads to Bono's parking lot shooting, 1 dead

A man is dead in what Jacksonville police are calling an apparent road-rage shooting that started in the parking lot of a Bono's barbecue restaurant. The man had a child in his car but was unharmed.
It happened shortly before 3 p.m. at 5229 Jammes Road near 103rd Street. It's unclear what started the confrontation, but the man who was shot in his purple sedan ended up crashing down the street into a house, Sgt. Michael Paul said. The child was in the back seat but not hit.

Man shot by Jacksonville police Monday remains hospitalized and unidentified because he can't speak yet

Police still don't have a name for the man hospitalized after Monday's fifth officer-involved shooting of the year at the Emerson Inn at 3558 Philips Highway, because he can't speak yet, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.'
And as officers look for another man who fled the scene after arguing with the person who was shot, they only have a possible nickname - Coco, said Sheriff's Office Chief Tom Hackney.

Duo arrested in church air conditioner thefts in Putnam County

Two 18-year-old South Putnam men have been arrested after air-conditioning units were stolen from area churches and the copper sold to a metal recycling company, according to the Putnam County Sheriff's Office.
Matthew Lee Hudson Jr. is charged with four counts each of burglary and grand theft, five counts each of dealing in stolen property and false ownership, and felony criminal mischief. Devin Anthony Fennell is charged with four counts each of burglary and grand theft, five counts of dealing in stolen property and one for felony criminal mischief.

Zimmerman's family: Watch captain expressed support for black man punched by white suspect

ORLANDO, Fla. ? George Zimmerman handed out fliers at black Sanford churches a year ago, outraged that a white police lieutenant's son, captured on video sucker-punching a homeless black man, was not arrested on the spot, family members said.
The fliers urged blacks to go to a Sanford City Commission meeting to protest and demand that the police chief be held accountable.
Robert Zimmerman confirmed that story Wednesday during an interview with Sean Hannity on Fox News.
