Pedestrian suffers critical injuries after car knocks her through window

A pedestrian suffered critical injuries and was airlifted Tuesday afternoon after a moving car knocked her through a business' window, according to Times-Union news partner First Coast News.

The news report said the crash occurred at the Tire Kingdom on San Jose Boulevard while service was being performed on the woman's car.

The driver did not comment to First Coast News, and police are still investigating. Ref. Source 4

Police say Savannah 10-year-old pulled knife on cops arresting his brother

SAVANNAH, Ga. -- A 10-year-old Savannah boy has been taken to a state Youth Development Center and charged with aggravated assault after he and his older brother scuffled with officers, Savannah-Chatham police said. Adan Rojas, 19, was charged with public drunkenness, false report of a crime and obstruction after he took a swing at an officer responding to his complaint of a stolen car Wednesday night, said Julian Miller, metro police spokesman. Yulee man downloaded child p-rn for years; sentenced to 15 years

Christopher O'Neal Burks, 38, also was sentenced to a life term of supervision upon release, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office. Burks pleaded guilty in July after his Christmas Eve 2009 arrest. He said he began viewing child p-rn-graphy after having a s-xual encounter with an underage girl, the U.S. Attorney's Office said. He had been downloading illegal material for years. Ref. Source 8

Boyfriend avoids death penalty by pleading guilty to Putnam teacher's dismemberment

Keller had been decapitated and had other appendages cut off. Body parts were later found buried in the neighborhood in western St. Johns. Her family reported Keller missing Monday, Aug. 23, the day she should have shown up for teacher orientation at Kelley Smith Elementary School in Palatka, where she taught third grade. Ref. Source 2
