Police are looking for a man who broke into the Badcock Furniture store at 10965 Beach Blvd. two times late April 30.
Police responded to a burglary alarm at the store to find the front door glass smashed in, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office. Video surveillance showed an unknown male smashed the glass and took two televisions without setting off the alarm. The man returned an hour later and took two more televisions, triggering the alarm that time.

Jacksonville police still seek final convenience store ATM suspect

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office continues to look for the last of a gang of thieves who broke into closed convenience stores and lassoed automatic teller machines behind stolen trucks and pulled them away.
Joseph Brian Ferguson is wanted for auto theft and burglary, and there is an active warrant for his arrest, according to police. He is the fourth suspect involved with the recent ATM thefts in the Jacksonville area.

An unidentified Jacksonville Sheriff?s Office detective and another man were hospitalized Tuesday following a three-car accident that tied up traffic at Philips Highway and Bowden Road.
The driver in a blue Hyundai was turning onto northbound Philips Highway off Bowden Road about 2 p.m. when he hit a gold Pontiac with a pregnant woman inside, according to Lt. Robert Hacksunda. The Hyundai ran across Philips Highway, jumped a median and hit the detective as he was making a left turn onto Bowden Road from southbound Philips Highway.

Jacksonville man pleads after child pornography found on a computer

A 46-year-old Jacksonville man pleaded guilty Tuesday in U.S. District Court to receiving child pornography over the internet, according to the U.S. Attorneys Office.
Christian Yvon Lapierre, a Canadian citizen living in Jacksonville, faces between five and 20 years in federal prison, a $250,000 fine, and a potential life term of supervised release, according to prosecutors.

Child shoots himself in leg in Jacksonville home

A young boy shot himself in the leg Thursday afternoon in his family home after he apparently found a handgun in his mother's purse, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.
Police said the boy's parents, ages 37 and 39, were sitting on their couch at 1 p.m. when they heard a gunshot from the dining room. They ran in to find one of their three children with a gunshot wound in the lower left leg, one tending to the child's wound while the other picked up the gun.
