A botched Jacksonville Beach robbery that nearly killed the victim will land two men in prison for a long time. James Thomas Taylor was sentenced Friday to 11 years, the State Attorney?s Office said. Taylor, 26, earlier pleaded guilty to attempted murder and armed robbery. The charges stem from a March 2012 incident where Taylor and Nicholas Duane Warren, 23, broke into a home and beat a man with a crowbar. Taylor and Warren tried to shoot Matthew Longhway, but the gun jammed. A jury previously convicted Warren, who faces life in prison.
