A Camden County alternative school teacher is in jail charged with child molestation and distributing obscene material to a minor, Sheriff?s Office records show.The St. Marys Police Department arrested Amy Lee Cassada, 34, at 5:18 p.m. Monday and booked her into the Camden County jail, the Sheriff?s Office said.Cassada is employed by Ombudsman Educational Services, which provides alternative school services for the Camden County Board of Education, school system spokesman Arthur Van Blarcum said.

Jacksonville man arrested in string of pharmacy robberies

A 52-year-old Southside Jacksonville man was arrested Thursday for armed robbery following a string of pharmacy robberies in Mandarin over the past month, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff?s Office.Police credit the arrest to someone who recognized the man based on a security camera photo publicized by the Sheriff?s Office earlier in the week and called it in.Michael Allen Lee was picked up by police at 9 p.m. at a motel at 1413 Prudential Drive, then booked into the Duval County jail, where he remains, police said.

Tuten Jr. signed an order last week, which was received in the McIntosh County Clerk of Court?s Office Tuesday, instructing the sheriff to take Grovner to jail.Ironically, church business will forestall his incarceration for lying under oath.

A man who was jailed after assaulting Jacksonville Beach police making a Christmas Day welfare check has been charged with the brutal beating of the woman at the heart of the police call.The delay in an arrest was because the victim needed several months of rehabilitation and treatment before she was able to identify her attacker, according to a news release.Attempted felony murder and false imprisonment charges have been filed against Maximillan J. Michaels, 52, who already had three counts of assault against him, according to a news release.

Woman runs red light kill man in Jacksonville crash

An erratic driver ran a red light on Roosevelt Boulevard killing another motorist Tuesday morning, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff?s Office.Police said the victim was going eastbound on Verona Avenue about 8:30 a.m. and entered the intersection at Roosevelt heading north when a woman in a Honda SUV ran the red light and hit his Volvo, killing him. The woman was taken to UF Health Jacksonville with non-serious injuries.

AUGUSTA, GA. | U.S. Attorney?s officials say an eastern Georgia man accused of bank fraud, wire fraud and identity theft has been sentenced to 15 years in prison.Officials said Tuesday that 44-year-old Bryant Webb, of Augusta, worked at a funeral home and was accused of defrauding his employer and the families of deceased people out of more than $215,000 in insurance policy proceeds.Authorities say Webb later began working at a nursing home in Augusta and stole about $33,000 from disabled residents.

NEPTUNE BEACH | City building code officials have condemned the three-story home where a balcony collapsed on Independence Day and injured eight people.The residents who lived there were told they have 48 hours to leave. However, Police Chief David Sembach said Friday that the city will likely give them until Monday.?The building codes inspectors came to see it this [Friday] morning and they deemed it to be unsafe and not properly supported,? Sembach said.
