A 39-year-old Jacksonville man died early Tuesday after he crashed his motorcycle on Atlantic Boulevard while apparently trying to flee from police who had tried to stop him over a suspended license, according to the Sheriff?s Office.John A. Blunt?s motorcycle rear-ended a parked truck about 3:45 a.m. while trying to turn onto Spring Park Road, less than a mile-and-a-half from his home on Redmond Avenue.

A 29-year-old Jacksonville man was convicted Friday on charges of armed robbery with a firearm and false imprisonment following a robbery/hostage situation a year ago at the MoneyGram store on Blanding Boulevard, according to the State Attorney?s Office.Eric Lonode Myrick faces a minimum-mandatory sentence of 10 years in prison when he is sentenced the week of Oct. 14, according to prosecutors.

The traffic stop of a fan on Interstate 95 in Kingsland yielded nearly 230 pounds of marijuana and the arrest of a Miami man, the Camden County Sheriff?s Office said.Sgt. Cedric Brown of the Sheriff?s Office stopped a black Dodge Caravan about 3 p.m. Thursday that had made an improper lane change as it traveled south on Interstate 95, the Sheriff?s Office said in a prepared release.When the driver stopped the van about 5 miles north of the state line, the driver was slow to roll down his window and, once he did, Brown smelled marijuana, the release said.

A 39-year-old St. Johns County man was arrested on 100 counts of possession of child pornography on Friday after thousands of images of children were found on a computer, according to the St. Johns County Sheriff?s Office.Jeramy Lee Graham of Kings Estate Road was arrested on a warrant and was booked into the County Jail on $100,000 bail, according to the Sheriff?s Office.

States New Online Auto Accident Reporting Available In Florida For Minor Fender-benders

Floridians have a new online Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles traffic crash reporting form specifically for drivers involved in a crash that does not warrant a police report - www.flhsmv.gov/fhp/misc/CrashReport.Drivers involved in accidents that cause no injuries, don?t need a tow truck, cause damage less than $500 and were not a ?hit and run? are required to submit their own written report to the state within 10 days of the crash. The new online form is designed to make it easier to submit that required form directly to the motor vehicles department.

The Jacksonville Aviation Authority?s director of security is on paid leave while his bosses seek his resignation, though the official reason remains a mystery.Sources familiar with Wednesday?s action against career cop Wayne Clark Sr., told The Times-Union the move followed internal strife over his management style. Clark declined to comment.Authority Spokesman Michael Stewart emailed The Times-Union an unsigned separation agreement listing the Authority and Clark as parties, but Stewart wouldn?t discuss details.
