A 43-year-old Frostproof man died Monday from injuries he suffered after he fell from a Plantation Bay rooftop, according to the Flagler County Sheriff?s Office.Roberto Martinez was working on a home at 424 Wingspan Drive, Ormond Beach, just before 10 a.m. when he fell 25 feet, the Sheriff?s Office said. Taken to Florida Hospital Flagler by county paramedics, he was pronounced dead at 11:30 a.m.The Occupational Safety and Health Administration is investigating the incident, the Sheriff?s Office said.

A 43-year-old woman was found guilty Thursday in the 2011 death of 37-year-old boyfriend Lamarca Deshon Wilcox, known by many through his rap name ?Mob Boss,? according to the State Attorneys Office.Vonice Charelle Green was convicted on manslaughter by a jury and faces 30 years in prison, sentencing set for Friday Dec. 6, according to prosecutors.

Jacksonville Man Gets 45 Years In Prison After Strangling Mother Of His Child

A Jacksonville man apprehended in South Florida for killing the 18-year-old mother of his child will spend the next 45 years in prison.Jose Valle, 27, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder last week and was sentenced by Circuit Judge Adrian G. Soud. He will get credit for the 175 days he has already been in jail.Valle was arrested at his sister?s house in Palm Beach County two days after Rosa Garcia was found strangled and beaten in their Jacksonville apartment, police said.

Man With Sword Killed By Man With Gun In Jacksonville Argument Between Acquaintances

Police say one man is dead and another in custody in what may be a self-defense case Friday on Jacksonville?s Westside.The men knew each other and had gotten into an argument. One had a gun and one a type of sword or long knife, Chief Annie Smith of the Sheriff?s Office.Police were called shortly before 1 p.m. to the 8600 block of Buttercup Street after the fight spilled into the driveway. The man with the sword was shot and killed, Smith said.The other man fled and was later picked up by police. He and witnesses were being questioned Friday afternoon.

A Jacksonville man died Monday after he intentionally jumped from the back seat of a car onto U.S. 301 in Clay County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.Lester George Garrison, 40, was in the back seat of a Ford Crown Victoria when he opened the left passenger door and jumped as he and three others were traveling from a cemetery in Lawtey. Other men in the car told investigators Garrison was ?having a discussion about life? in the back seat when he opened the door, took a couple of puffs on a cigarette and jumped, Sgt. Dylan Bryan said.

A Ware County man who was heard arguing with someone outside his home was shot to death Monday night, the sheriff said.Billy Gene Wallace Jr., 40, died after he was shot multiple times outside a mobile home at 1900 Carswell Avenue on the outskirts of Waycross across from Okefenokee Technical College, Ware County Sheriff Randy Royal said.Wallace had received a phone call about 11 p.m. and stepped outside the dwelling to talk with someone, Royal said.

Jacksonville Police Investgate Double-fatal Shooting

Police say they are not searching for suspects in the deaths of a Jacksonville man and woman found shot to death at an apartment complex in the 1100 block of Kendall Town Boulevard.About 1:20 a.m. Tuesday police were called to a disturbance at Kendall Lake apartments that was upgraded to indicate shots had been fired. When they arrived they found a man and woman in their mid-40s dead with gunshot wounds.Detectives were canvassing the area and interviewing witnesses to determine what occurred but said the incident appears to be isolated.Dana Treen: (904) 359-4091
