Man Sentenced To 25 Years In 4-year-olds Molestation

A 39-year-old man charged with sexual battery of a Nassau County child pleaded guilty to a lesser count this month and was sentenced to 25 years, according to the State Attorney?s Office and court records.Victor Cruz-Adolfo?s prison sentence will be followed by sex-offender probation for life. He negotiated a plea deal Feb. 13 to one count of lewd or lascivious molestation of a minor.The 4-year-old girl told her mother last September that he made her perform sexually inappropriate acts on him, according to the State Attorney?s Office.

Palatka Man Sentenced To Prison On Child Pornography Charges

A 36-year-old Palatka man was sentenced Tuesday to 8 years and 9 months in federal prison for receiving and possessing videos of child pornography using the Internet, according to the U.S. Attorney?s Office.Travis Rocky Dixon was also ordered to serve a 10-year term of supervision and register as a sex offender after a federal jury found him guilty on Nov. 5, prosecutors said.

Man Killed In Jacksonville Robbery Idenitified

A man who died after he was shot in a Jacksonville robbery Saturday has been identified by police.Christopher Lee Seymour, 27, was found inside a unit in the Southpoint Place Apartments, 3541 Victoria Park Road when patrol officers arrived shortly after midnight. He was hospitalized with life-threatening wounds and has died since.Police have not reported an arrest in the case.

Neighbors of a man found dead in his home on Jacksonville?s Northside have been charged with murder and accessory to murder in the case, police said Friday.Police made the arrests after finding photos of the suspects on the victim?s camera as it was being pawned the day after the shooting.Bryan Joseph Edwards, 47, was killed during a robbery that was planned to take place during a drug deal, said Assistant Chief Chris Butler of the Sheriff?s Office.

7th Candidate Opens Campaign Account For Jacksonville Sheriffs Race

A criminal justice educator and former police officer is the seventh entrant into the race for Jacksonville sheriff.Mark Kerrin, 60, an adjunct professor at Kaplan College in Jacksonville opened a campaign account Tuesday with the Supervisor of Elections office.Kerrin is the third to file this month, along with retired Officer Ken Jefferson and Lt. Rob Schoonover. Four others, Officer Tony Cummings, Sgt. Jay Farhat, retired Director Jimmy Holderfield and Director Mike Williams opened accounts earlier.

A bank robber who shot and killed a Baker County deputy on the side of the road 47 years ago has died in prison.Calvin Carlos Campbell, 74, died Monday of natural causes at Gulf Correctional Institution in Florida?s Panhandle, according to the Department of Corrections.
