Man Killed Monday In Jacksonville Drive-by Identified

The identity of a Jacksonville man shot and killed Monday in what police are investigating as a drive-by shooting has been released.William F. Davis, 25, of the 1800 block of East 22nd Street, was outside the Jones and Jones Corner Store at East 28th and Buckman streets when he and a second man were shot multiple times.Davis was taken to UF Health Jacksonville where he was pronounced dead. The second victim suffered non life threatening wounds in the shooting just before noon.

Man In Critical Condition After Falling From Pickup Truck In Jacksonville Police Looking For Driver

A man is listed in critical condition after falling from the back of a pickup truck in Jacksonville early Friday and the Sheriff?s Office needs help locating the driver of the truck.Christopher Muir fell out of the truck during a crash at Newnan Street and Independent Drive about 2 a.m. and was taken to UF Health Jacksonville in life-threatening-condition, police said.A woman was driving a group of friends from the Jacksonville Landing in a black pickup truck and she left the scene of the crash before talking to police, according to the Sheriff?s Office.

Operation Targeting Unlicensed Contractors In St. Johns County Nets Arrests

A St. Johns County sting targeting unlicensed contractors ended with 15 arrests Monday and Tuesday after the men bid on repairs then showed up to do the work.The arrests include two felony charges. The remainder were charged with falsely identifying themselves as contractors, a misdemeanor. Some also were issued misdemeanor drug or other charges.

Jacksonville Man Gets 12 Years In Prison For Drug Related Shooting When Robbery Attempt Backfired

A Jacksonville man will spend a dozen years in prison for a drug-related shooting.Darren Jamal Jackson, 22, pleaded guilty earlier this week to second-degree murder and armed robbery. He was sentenced to 12 years in prison by Circuit Judge James Daniels and will get credit for the 870 days he?s already been in jail.

Sister And Sisters Boyfriend Arrested In Death Of Jacksonville Woman Found In Ditch Friday

A woman whose body was found in a water-filled ditch Friday was arguing with her sister?s boyfriend when she was stunned by a Taser several times and stabbed, Jacksonville police said Tuesday.Kenny Conyers Jr., 28, has been charged with murder in the death of Shaquita Anne Smith, 29, whose body had lain in a ditch in the 7900 block of Park City Drive for about two days until being discovered by pedestrians. Smith?s sister, Tamiko Renee Smith, 38, was charged as an accessory in the disposal of the body, said Assistant Chief Chris Butler.

Five Arrested After Meth Lab Busted In St. Augustine

Two men and three women were arrested Friday on various drug charges after two active methamphetamine labs and two inactive labs were among the items found during a raid of a home in the 900 block of South Holmes Boulevard in St. Augustine, according to the St. Johns County Sheriff?s Office.
