JSO Patrol Car Hits Man On Motorcycle Friday On Atlantic Blvd.

A motorcyclist with a serious arm injury was taken to a hospital Friday after getting hit by a Jacksonville Sheriff?s Office patrol car.The patrol car was westbound on Atlantic Boulevard about noon when the motorcyclist tried to turn east from Century Street, police said.The patrol car hit the motorcyclist and the man was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.Sgt. F. Alicea was driving the patrol car and was not injured.The Traffic Homicide Unit is conducting the investigation and no other details were released.

Concerns about ?a great deal of misinformation circulating in the public? about the June 26 shooting death at Nippers Beach Grille has prompted a response from the Jacksonville Beach Police Department.A group of men had gotten into an altercation about 8 p.m. outside the 2309 Beach Blvd. club when 40-year-old Zachariah ?Nas T? James Tipton of Fernandina Beach was shot and killed. At leat 200 people there were interviewed, police said at the time, but no criminal charges have been determined.

Response To Facebook Posting Results In Quick Arrest Of Burglary Suspect Recovery Of Items Taken

Quick citizen responses to a Facebook posting are credited with helping Camden County investigators make an arrest and recover belongings taken in a Thursday night burglary, Sheriff Jim Proctor said in a release.Deputies responding to a 7 p.m. burglary call on Greenville Road west of Kingsland found that someone had broken into a residence and taken 14 guns, a bag of coins, knives watches and personal items, Proctor said.The burglars also tore a document safe off a wall and pried it open, he said.

Meth Lab Uncovered In Jacksonville Home

A methamphetamine lab was uncovered Tuesday afternoon in the 10600 block of Ithaca Drive in North Jacksonville, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff?s Office.Investigators are searching for whoever was living in the home as they disassembled the laboratory and carefully packed other evidence found in the single-family home off Biscayne Boulevard.An undercover narcotics investigation led police to the home about noon, Lt. Allen Eason said. That?s when both ends of the street were blocked off and neighbors were kept out for a few hours.

Police say a Daytona Beach father beat an 18-year-old man unconscious after finding him sexually abusing his son.Authorities say the father called 911 early Friday after he walked in on the alleged abuse. When officers arrived they found Raymond Frolander motionless on the living room floor. He had several knots on his face and was bleeding from the mouth.

The Clay County Sheriff?s Office is seeking the public?s help in finding a young suspect in a March 1 incident where a gun was fired at the Chick-fil-A at 1925 Wells Road.The incident began with a fight involving a large group in front of the movie theater at the Orange Park Mall about 9:30 p.m. It spread as dozens of teens fled from deputies to stores in or near the mall, then ended with reports of gunshots at the fast-food restaurant, according to the Sheriff?s Office.Anyone with information about this incident can contact the Sheriff?s Office at (904) 264-6512.

Suspects Sought In Sunday-night Attack In Hastings

Five men are being sought in connection with a Sunday night attack on a 20-year-old man outside a home in the 200 block of Chase Street in Hastings, according to the St. Johns County Sheriff?s Office.Deputies were called to the home just before 8 p.m. on a report of a disturbance in front, the Sheriff?s Office said. Witnesses said five men walked up to the victim and attacked him, one trying to strangle him as another pulling a handgun. The men drove away in a silver Dodge Caliber, leaving the victim with minor injuries.

Garbage Truck Employee 54 Dies After Friday Morning Fall In St. Johns

A garbage truck employee has died after he fell from a moving vehicle Friday morning in the 1200 block of Ribbon Road off Race Track Road in Northwest St. Johns County, according to the St. Johns County Sheriff?s Office.Investigators said the Republic Services employee fell from the truck just after 11 a.m. and hit his head. Terry Wayne Stewart, 54, sustained a serious injury and was airlifted to UF Health Jacksonville, according to the Sheriff?s Office. Detectives are working to determine the reason for the incident.
