Police have charged a 20-year-old Jacksonville man with murder in the death of a victim killed when shots were fired into his car as he drove past.Daren Androplis Riley was arrested Friday after a shooting Wednesday that killed 30-year-old Anthony E. Bencivenga, who was found slumped over the wheel of his car in the 100 block of Andress Street.Police said Bencivenga was westbound on Andress when the shooter fired at the car, striking it in the hood then hitting Bencivenga through the window, according to a police report.

A 43-year-old Louisiana man was sentenced to death Tuesday after he helped kidnap a Florida State University graduate student in Tallahassee in 2010, then killed him in a St. Augustine field, according to the State Attorney?s Office.Kentrell Feronti Johnson, one of three men charged in the crime spree that started with a Louisiana prison break, had been convicted in late June of first-degree murder and kidnapping, according to prosecutors. Circuit Judge Raul Zambrano followed the jury?s unanimous recommendation of death.

When the sun peaked over the trees Friday morning, Murray Hill residents were greeted by buildings vandalized with blue graffiti.A swastika, the words ?Helter Skelter,? ?worship the devil,? many 666?s and other markings and phrases covered the sides of Murray Hill Presbyterian Church and other buildings.Around the corner on Edgewood Avenue, Bella Vita Pizzeria was also vandalized. Owner Stan Radcliffe said he was able to scrape the graffiti off his store?s window Friday morning.?They wrote ?$5.99? on my window,? Radcliffe said. ?I have no idea why.?
