On September 1 this year, the identity of the man who will head the Republic of Kabardino-Balkaria for the next five years was revealed. At a parliamentary vote in the republic, 53 of the 57 deputies present supported incumbent President Arsen Kanokov's bid to serve another term. But in order to succeed in appeasing and modernizing the republic, Kanokov will need much more than his wisdom and an efficient team by his side.
