Polls Predict Pro-Life Landside in November as Republicans Top Democrats

Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- New polls released today show good news for pro-life advocates as the predicted November 2010 election landslide 55 days from now looks more and more likely. The polls show voters favor Republican candidates, who are more pro-life than their Democratic counterparts, so much that a takeover is possible.

The Wall Street Journal/NBC poll usually has sympathetic numbers for the pro-abortion Democrats who currently control Congress and have advanced President Barack Obama's pro-abortion agenda.

But today's survey shows that the people most likely to vote based on their level of interest in the campaign and their history of voting, give Republicans a dramatic 49% to 40% advantage.

And those who expressed the very highest levels of interest in this year's election preferred a Republican Congress by a margin of 53% to 35% -- an 18 percent advantage.

"If that kind of lead holds, Republicans would almost certainly take back control of the House," the two media outlets wrote about their poll.

The Wall Street Journal suggests Democrats could fare better than the numbers suggest if they worked on turning out their voters who want more of the same pro-abortion government-run health care and taxpayer funding of abortions Ref. Source 9

I think that the voters should throw out any long term politician and get fresh bodies in there that can listen to the people of this great nation. It may take four more years but in that time we can get rid of every politician that has been in the congress for more than six years.

Pollster Nate Silver and Author Ari Berman on "Third Straight Anti-Incumbent Election"

Candidates are entering the final few days of campaigning in what may turn out to be one of the more interesting midterm elections in recent decades. Most polls are forecasting Republicans will take control of the House, while Democrats are expected to hold on to the Senate, which would result in a rare split Congress. We speak to New York Times pollster and FiveThirtyEight.com founder Nate Silver, and Ari Berman, political correspondent for The Nation magazine and the author of the new book Herding Donkeys: The Fight to Rebuild the Democratic Party and Reshape American Politics. "Free Speech for People" Coalition Calls for Constitutional Amendment to Overturn Citizens United Decision Allowing Unlimited Corporate Spending on Elections

Part of the reason for the record-high campaign spending in this year's midterm elections is the Supreme Court's January ruling in Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission. In a 5-4 decision, the Court ruled corporations have First Amendment rights and that the government cannot impose restrictions on their political speech, which cleared the way for corporations and other special interest groups to spend unlimited amounts of money on elections. Earlier this month, a group of more than fifty law professors and prominent attorneys issued a letter calling on Congress to consider a constitutional amendment to overturn the decision. We speak with two people involved with Free Speech for People, a coalition of public interest organizations that formed after the Citizens United ruling. Ref. Source 3

Election choice: You are stupid or you are the key

Once again progressives cannot hide their disdain for the American people - calling them 'stupid' and even comparing them to dogs. Glenn explains the choice this election. It's not just left and right, it's about believing the people are capable vs. Believing the people are morons who need to be controlled. Ref. Source 7

It is my belief that the elections are held so the government can decide who they let you vote into office. I am not saying the elections are rigged but you have to remember that the electoral college was invented by congress to make sure the people of the united states voted the correct person into office. I am glad we only have that for presidential elections and not mid term elections. Or is there something else out there that we are not being told?

Election Eve: GOP lead & CBS manufacturing stories

The latest Gallup polling has Republicans with a huge 15 point advantage among likely voters. But don't get too cocky yet - that advantage hinges solely on voter turnout. The less people show up, the less the gap - if there is normal turnout then the gap shrinks to a 4 point lead for the GOP. Glenn has more numbers, plus the incredible story coming from Alaska where a CBS news affiliate is caught on tape trying to create a story to hurt Republican Joe Miller. Ref. Source 9
