No DirectTV During Rain
I've heard that some people's reception goes when it rains if they use DirectTV to see extra channels, is that true?
I do not have Directtv but I just checked their website and this is what they say about it:
QUOTE |
Can weather interfere with my reception? Television reception on the DIRECTV System is highly reliable year-round and nationwide. DIRECTV® service is only minimally affected by weather, under extreme conditions. If a signal interruption happens at all, it is usually less than one minute long. Will I get poor reception sometimes? DIRECTV delivers a clear digital-quality signal. Our state-of-the-art reception is extremely reliable, day and night. On very rare occasions, severe weather conditions may interrupt a signal for a moment, but the clear and crisp picture you're used to always returns very quickly. |

I fail to see how heavy rain can disrupt DirectTV altogether, maybe slightly distort it. |
We have had DISH since late October. In that time, we have had a severe ice storm (broke about 1/3 of the trees in town) and a good, heavy snowstorm (about 10" of loose snow in 24 hours). We never noticed a single disruption of service.
