OREM, Utah - When upstate New York native Michaella Lawson returned from her mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she became acutely aware that her passion for theater and dinner dates was diminished by her wardrobe. Nothing was available in the stores she patronized that met her standards of modesty and style, so she began designing her own dresses.
I understand the need for modesty and proper dress styles but sometimes there is a double standard. When a Mormon girl struts around national TV in a swim suit it is Ok especially if she wins, but if she wears anything form fitting to college its totally wrong, huh?
That's an unusual way of thinking about it. For me you just select what you want your children to wear and then their fine with it, at least that's how my kids are with their clothes. Its when you give them choices or make them feel they have a choice is where the problems might start
