Did Reggie Bush Cheat?

Reggie Bush, one of the biggest names coming out of college football last year, and a suspected top 5 pick in this weekend's NFL draft, is now under suspicion for violating NCAA rules while he played for USC. Here is a rundown of the story:

Pac-10 to look into housing situation for Bush's family

QUOTE
Former Southern California star Reggie Bush said there was nothing inappropriate about his family's living arrangement at a home owned by a man who reportedly sought to market him because they paid rent there.

The Pac-10 said Sunday that it will investigate whether any NCAA rules were violated when Bush's family, including mother Denise Griffin, stepfather LaMar Griffin and brother Jovan Griffin lived in the Spring Valley, Calif., house while Bush was still playing for USC last season

When Yahoo reported the family was living there, they suddenly moved out the next weekend, making it sound pretty suspicious. If Bush is found in violation, the ramifications would be huge for USC, who will have to forfeit every game he played in while being ineligible, including the 40+ game unbeaten streak and 2 National Championships. A lot is definitely riding on this investigation. Do you think Bush was at fault here?

Wow, tough call. If he really did take the house, as it appears he did, it will be tragic. Unfortunately, he knows the rules, USC knows the rules, and this type of thing happens allot I'm sure. The question is, did this really impact USC on the field? If not, and I argue it doesn't, then they shouldn't strip them of any games won with him in the game.

I also learned last night that the Heisman Trophy committee is considering retracting his 2005 Heisman Trophy if the allegations are proven true. This would be a major blow to college football and the first time EVER that a Heisman winner would have lost his trophy due to NCAA violations. A lot is riding on this investigation.

Name: Jim

Comments: Kon, Reggie didn't contribute. He was the HT winner. USC should immediately forfeit all games in which he played and give back all honors received. That is why old Pete is going to jump that ship of rats. USC and SMU good couple.

The athletic department at USC knew what was going on and yet they did nothing to stop it. I think it is good and manly of him to turn in his trophy as everyone knows it was gotten in the first place illegally. I hope that the NFL and college athletic programs figure out a way to see that this type of cheating no longer exists.
