Hello, I served in that mission many years ago. 77-79. I was in Pacheco, ( then part of the San Fernando Branch) Junin, La Boca, Lujan and Pilar. Where is Loma Hermosa?

Hi gaucho, welcome aboard! it's nice to have you here! it's great also that you have served in the best mission of the world! biggrin.gif Loma Hermosa is near Villa Ballester who was years ago the Stake Center for the Buenos Aires North Mission. I remember going to several activities in the San Fernando Ward, great people!.

There is a young man from my ward who is serving there now. And his brother is in Buenos Aires South Mission, and I think his mother served there also. Isn't that interesting??

SAN LUIS, Argentina - Elder Matthew S. Turley, a Latter-day Saint missionary in Argentina, was killed and his companion was injured Sunday when they were hit by a drunk driver. "We extend our deepest sympathies to the family of Elder Turley," Church spokesman Dale Bills said Monday. "We pray that the Lord will comfort them as they mourn his loss."

What a tragedy. I could not stop thinking that the victims of these latest deaths are missionaries that had 2 or 3 months to return home. My prayers go to all of them.

I haven't been on this board for a while but I wanted to share my trip to Argentina last month. I went down with one of my companions from 29 years ago and visited some people we knew a lifetime ago. We posted a history of our trip with photos and all. I think you can access it here:

https://groups.yahoo.com/group/BA/

This is an email group for missionaries who served in Buenos Aires North under Pres. Harris. You may have to sign in to read anything. Feel free to use my sign in which is rsmith3017 and my password is lujan.

Once you are signed in, click on files, then you will see five separate files of our trip. Let me know if you can access it.
