Too Fat To Serve
Is it possible for a prospective Missionary to be so fat that he is denied from serving?
Well, if the missionary is extremely overweight medical issues would come up in his/her medical testings so I assume based on those findings, he/she may or may not be denied from serving NOT because of his/her weight but because of the medical issues that the excess of weight is putting him/her through.
From what I understand there is a body mass index that is used to calculate if you are 'too big'. What the calculation is exactly I do not know, but there are limits. I have only seen one missionary that was really huge, but he was also very tall.
I've seen some "large" missionaries, but not many. I would think that the extra weight would make the physical requirements of walking and biking to appointments and other activities a real hardship on someone who is very overweight. (I know this from personal experience, unfortunately.)
