I believe that some people need children to be happy. They want to bring life into this world and give it a good home with a good upbringing to see that life blossom and be greater than they were in life. Many parents get their fulfillment in that.
On the other hand there are those who have no desire to have children. They like to have the freedom to go where they want when they want to go. They do not want to be tied down by children or others depending on them. They have a fulfilling life too.
I guess it comes down to what do you as a individual want from your life.
I don't think you need kids to be fulfilled.
Some people are just not inclined to be that type of person.
Further if you feel you NEED a kid to be fulfilled I would hold off. Having a child, we all know, is a big responsibility.
Just like all people they are their own individual. You may have a picture in your head of who your kid is and how great of a parent you will be. That image is simply not a real one. It's a nice thought but reality is much different.
You may find yourself wondering why you don't have that fulfilled sensation when your child comes home with a new tattoo or swears they hate you.
