I was having a discussion about some of the mistakes Joseph made that were like Moses where he listened to some person and ended up in trouble with the Lord. Anyways we were comparing that Joseph Smith never saw Zion fully built just like Moses never came into the promise land. What do you think about all of this?
Hello,
What comes to mind in regards to this discussion is - the sealed portion of the Book of Mormon deals with the further vision and understanding of what the brother of Jared saw when he was allowed to be brought back into the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ because of his faith having been turned into knowledge and it no longer being faith.
Also the way I understand it, is that what we lost when the 116 page manuscript which was given to Martin Harris and it being lost was the account called the Book of Lehi.
Either way, I guess we can get the Book of Lehi returned when and if the Lord decides we need it. However the 1/3 sealed portion of the Book of Mormon will be revealed when the Church as a whole will be ready for it.
If I am wrong in my understanding of these things, please someone let me know, but that is what comes to mind when I read what has been posted so far.
Seekintruth I think you are looking for this Discussion: Source 1 this Thread as I understand it is a comparison between Joseph Smith and Moses making certain mistakes that caused them to not see the end result of their work in the flesh.
Yes that's right JB its mostly a comparison. We were thinking that Nauvoo was the Zion of the time for Joseph, did he expect to go further West to Utah or was that just because of the mobs that killed him and then the Saints had to leave?
