Seems like the more modern Star Trek 2 Movie will follow the same lines of the 80's versions. Check the front cover of SFX - October 2010. If anyone read it please give us some inside knowledge.

I have heard that the new Star Trek movie is like the original but it is newer and better with some of the characters from the original making guest appearances. I heard they have three or four in mind. The second one we get to see how the new Kirk and Spock become friends. Thus bringing in McCoy in to round out the three.
