Congress irrelevant? War #4 is here in Yemen
Glenn believes history will remember the guy setting himself on fire in Tunisia as the Archduke Ferdinand moment of our time. It seemed relatively insignificant at the time, but look at what it's triggered. Egypt, Lebanon, Syria, Saudi Arabia, Yemen and more are all on the verge of collapse. What's really curious is that Obama recognizes things are unstable in the Middle East, yet he keeps encouraging more instability. How? Well, bombing Libya (and continuing it) for one. And now he's bombing another country: Yemen. Does anyone know what side we are fighting with? Ref. Source 6

U.S., Yemeni and other intelligence agencies broke up a plot to bomb a U.S. Airliner, a U.S. Counterrrorism official said.
The plot was discovered before it threatened any Americans, and no airliners were put at risk, the official said. A non-metallic explosive device with similarities to the one used in a failed attempt to bomb a Detroit-bound jet in 2009 was recovered, the official said.
The White House said President Barack Obama was told about the plot in April. Ref. CNN
U.S. Drone attacks in Yemen cause political strain:
U.S. Drone attacks, which have often killed civilians in the past, are resented by Yemenis, even the many who abhor al Qaeda. Suspicions that feuding generals and politicians, from Saleh down, are not averse to using the militants to advance their own ends also complicate efforts to combat them. Ref. Source 9
