Firemen let house burn over $75
It's hard to believe but yes, a fire department actually allowed a house to burn to the ground as they watched because the homeowner had not paid the $75 fee to the fire department. If the rules were stated clearly, then perhaps the homeowner was rolling the dice to save $75 bucks. Or should they have just put out the flame and fined him after? Or something completely different? Glenn discusses it on radio today. Ref. Source 5
I would hate to be the city or township that this fire department is part of. I think it is stupid that they would let a house burn to the ground because the home owner owed them $75. I know I would be suing them now since they responded to the fire and just sat there. If I lived in the area I would want a new chief and firemen because these guys are not to be trusted now. Who knows what the next excuse will be when another house is allowed to burn down.
