The Spirit

The Spirit

What is it with all these bak in times superheroes? The Spirit was directed by Frank Miller and starred Jaime King, Gabriel Macht, Dan Gerrity and even had Samuel Jackson. It is about a rookie dead cop Denny Colt who returns from the beyond as "The Spirit", a man incapable of death, at least by normal means. The movie has that Frank miller touch but I thought it was scripted more for Broadway production than a film. I think the whole movie was a comedy more than anything else. There was nothing realistic, interesting or moving about the film. Mind you, I have not read the comic, so I do not know if that is how I'm supposed to take it, but I cannot give this movie a high rating at all. The other strange thing was the mix of old with new. It look like the era for the storyline is maybe in the 50-60s yet you can clearly see instances of Nokia cell phones and modern computers with LCD screens being used - weird.

You sat through the whole thing JB? After about 15 minutes I think it was the scene where Octupuss and him were fighting I just had to get up and leave. I can't even give this movie a score it was so bad.
