While Shifter sticks out his chest and Assassin looks on, Krusten replies,
"Nebet imey-er!"
To which the leader of this small band nods, looks you over again and then turns around to his pals and says something you do not understand. The rest of the band leave heading back the way they came while the one who questioned you now bids you to follow him. He takes you to the general direction you were going before their rude interruption and then points to the entrance that you were going to anyway. He departs.
You walk up to what can only be described as an abandoned looking building with a very strong looking metal door as the entrance. On the metal door etched in is some hieroglyphics but you have no idea about its meaning at first glance.
GM: Say what you wish to do now.
As the rest of you look on, Assassin says he has loosely translated its meaning as:
The High Priestess of Adeben
Then, Krusten gives a standard knock on the door and the sound of the metal echos around, but after half a minute no one opens or says anything from within.
GM: Say what you wish to do now.
Shifter tries to open the door normally, but it does not budge.
Krusten pounds harder on the door and the sound emitted is so loud it would be impossible for anyone to not hear it even up to 2 blocks away.
Assassin concentrates on the door and can see faint heat signatures in the distance behind it but not near. Above the door he can make out a stronger heat signature standing near an open cracked window.
GM: Say what you wish to do now.
Krusten tries to sense what the people seen by Assassin are thinking. She believes they are waiting for something, like a special knock for the door. Until they get that special knock they will not engage in any communication.
As Assassin stands back, Shifter, using his super stretch, attempts to reach the window high above him and does so with little effort, however as he opens the window his eyes fall on a man armed with a modern crossbow who is in shock by your appearance. He raises it to you and shouts in a frantic way in a language you cannot understand.
GM: Say what you wish to do now.
The surprise has temporarily delayed the crossbowman, but was it enough to allow the superhero a chance to return to normal size?
GM: Kntoran on your next action use the Embedded Dice D100 vs. Speed. A number over your Speed is a failure.
Krusten shouts to Shifter,
"He has the intention to shoot!", but Kntoran gets the feeling about that too but only hears it confirmed by Krusten.
Meanwhile...
Assassin tries to look up something on the internet about the door and is still in the process of doing so but all the distraction takes away his concentration.
GM: Say what you wish to do now.
Shrifter shrinks back as a bolt flies over his head hitting the building across the street with a thud. The man with crossbow runs by the window to see what is going on, he yells something that you do not understand and then he runs inside.
Krusten reports she can feel fear and panic. She also can now see that some people are gathered at the far ends in the alley you are standing. They peer around the walls and comment to each other excitedly.
Assassin finds a lot of information associated to the group but not about the door specifically. He does find where one site mentions that there is always a secret way to enter and no one knows it but the entrants and initiates of the overseer.
GM: Say what you wish to do now.
Krusten feels the onlookers have mixed emotions: surprise, fear and curiosity. Those within the building exhibit similar but more fixed emotions. You can tell they will defend their place to the death if they must. You can also tell that your banging, attempt at getting in through the window and so forth has triggered a feeling of hostility towards you.
Meanwhile...
Assassin tries to think up something and figures that the persons likely to know the method of entry would either be a member of the cult (Maybe the thugs you met), or the lady from the museum although the later is less likely.
During this...
Shifter has a look around the building but finds no other entry as the one door is set in the middle of a windowless ground floor. You can extend your search by leaving the others and going around the block.
GM: Say what you wish to do now.
Feeling at odds with the situation Krusten and Assassin return to where the thugs met her the first time. They, in like fashion come out in the same immature way but this time curiosity at your return has them more interested in what you are about. When you ask about how to get inside they look at you in amazement and start speaking in their own local slang. The leader manages to say one word that helps you figure their current conversation, "Police". Krusten can feel their uneasiness and they seem to be reaching for something in their clothing.
Meanwhile...
Shifter stays by the door only noticing the crowd of onlookers growing but they dare not come close to you.
